Just before 8:30 PM on Wednesday, April 4th, 2 masked men entered the rear door of the China Wok Restaurant - located ion the 2000 block of South Sycamore Street. While one suspect stayed at the door as a lookout, the other, who was armed with a shotgun, confronted an employee and told her to open the cash register. After taking the money, the suspects fled out that rear door. Both suspects were described as black males wearing black masks. Several witnesses have provided additional information but we still need your help to make an identification and an arrest. Several thefts of construction equipment have been reported to Petersburg police and we're asking for your help to solve them. Early in February, a David White Dual Slope Laser, in a black carrying case, and a Topcom Pad Laser, in a yellow case, were stolen from the new hospital construction site on Pinehill Blvd. Later that same month, a yellow Stow 3 bag mortar mixer with a Honda engine, was stolen from a construction site on Poplar Springs Drive. Items stolen are valued at more than $8,500.00 but they will probably be offered for sale at a fraction of their true value. Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. If you know anything about these thefts, or you have information about any crime or fugitive in the Petersburg or Dinwiddie County area, call Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212. You never have to give your name or testify in court to earn the reward. All Crime Solvers calls are kept completely confidential. CRIMES ARE SOLVED WHEN THE COMMUNITY IS INVOLVED!!! |

A rape in Petersburg is the focus of this week's Crime Solvers spot. On Saturday, March 10th, the victim and some friends went out for the evening. They chose Outlaws Bar & Grill located in the 3700 block of South Crater Road. While there, she met and danced with the suspect. Shortly after midnight, they went outside together. That's when the sexual assault allegedly occurred. Some 30 minutes later, the suspect was seen coming back inside - alone. Shortly thereafter, the victim returned and she and her friends left. The suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years of age, 5'9" to 6' tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a white baseball cap and white or light colored clothing. Police are examining the security tapes from the business. Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest.
