Crimes of the Week
June 2007

June 27, 2007

This week, Crime Solvers is asking for your help to clear an armed robbery in Petersburg.

At 12:40 AM last Thursday, June 21st, a subject walked into the lobby of the Super 8 Motel - located in the 500 block of East Wythe Street. He asked the clerk about the cost of a room and then left stating that he would return with the money. About 10 minutes later, he did return - with 3 other subjects - one of whom was armed with a handgun. A robbery was announced; they took money from the cash register and fled.

All 4 suspects were black males wearing dark shirts, dark jeans and blue bandanas.

Do you have any idea who they might be?

A malicious wounding in Dinwiddie County is the focus of this week's Crimesolvers spot.

On May 26th Deputies responded for the report of a person being shot in front of a residence in the 4700 block of Woodstream Drive in the Brickwood subdivision. There had been a party at this residence and as the victim was leaving he was approached by two black males that had been uninvited guests at the party. One of the suspects produced a gun and the victim was shot in the leg.

The gunman is described as being young, heavy set and wearing a red t-shirt. He was accompanied by another young male with a thin build and wearing a white t-shirt. The suspects fled the scene on foot.

Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. Another armed robbery in Petersburg is the focus of this week's Crime Solvers spot.

Just before 10:30 AM last Friday, June 8th, two men casually walked into the Check'N Go loan office in the 3200 block of South Crater Road. The taller man began talking to the clerk about a loan. Suddenly, he produced a gun and demanded money. He then ordered his partner to empty the cash register. The clerk was then told to take them to the safe. When they couldn't get into it, the suspects left with just the money from the register. They are believed to have fled the scene in a 1993 or '94 black 4 door Acura.

These suspects were both black males wearing long sleeve white shirts. The leader is described as being about 6' tall with a thin build and medium brown complexion. He had the gun and did all the talking. The second suspect is about 5'8" tall, with a stocky build - maybe 175 lbs. - a dark complexion, wearing a white ball cap. He appeared scared and did everything he was told.

Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. CRIMES ARE SOLVED WHEN THE COMMUNITY IS INVOLVED!!!

June 6, 2007

Crime Solvers is again asking for your help to solve an armed robbery in Petersburg.

Just before 8:30 PM on Wednesday, April 4th, two masked men entered the rear door of the China Wok Restaurant - located in the 2000 block of South Sycamore Street. While one suspect stayed at the door as a lookout, the other, who was armed with a shotgun, confronted an employee and ordered her to open the cash register. After taking the money, the suspects fled out that rear door.

Both suspects were described only as black males wearing dark masks.

Is this the only robbery these suspects have committed? We think not. Until they are caught, they are a dangerous threat to the community.

Several witnesses have provided additional information but we still need your help to make an identification and an arrest.

Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. If you know anything about this robbery, or you have information about any crime or fugitive in the Petersburg or Dinwiddie County area, call Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212. You never have to give your name or testify in court to earn the reward. All Crime Solvers calls are kept completely confidential.
