Another home invasion in Petersburg - this one involving a particularly vicious assault - is the focus of this week's Crime Solvers spot. The victim - a senior citizen - was at home alone in the 1000 block of 6th Street on Monday, September 3rd. At about 2:00 AM, he answered a knock at the door. When he opened it, he was immediately hit in the face with a black semi-auto handgun. The 2 black male suspects demanded money. The victim did not respond fast enough so the suspects beat him and talked about killing him. They then took his cars keys but soon found they could not drive a standard transmission car. When the victim refused to show them how to drive it, he was thrown into the truck. The suspects kept trying to drive car and, in short order, burned out the clutch. They then beat the victim again until he managed to break free and run screaming to a neighbor's house. These suspects fled with nothing. Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. If you know anything about this case, or you have information about any crime or fugitive in the Petersburg or Dinwiddie County area, call Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212.
