This week Crime Solvers needs your help on a home invasion style burglary in Petersburg.

At 5:20 PM on Saturday, October 27th, the front door of a residence in the 900 block of West Wythe Street was kicked in. While one suspect remained just outside with a sawed-off shotgun, the second suspect ran directly to the bedroom of the 80 year old victim. After looking under the victim's pillow, that suspect ran from the house. Both suspects then fled the scene without saying a word.

Both suspects were black males wearing black T-shirts. The suspect with the shotgun looked to be in his early 30's, 5'9" tall, about 160 lbs. The second suspect was a youngster - maybe in his mid-teens - 5'6" tall, 130 lbs.

Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. If you know anything about this burglary, or you have information about any crime or fugitive in the Petersburg or Dinwiddie County area, call Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212. You never have to give your name or testify in court to earn the reward. All Crime Solvers calls are kept completely confidential.

November 7, 2007

This week marks the first anniversary of an unsolved murder in Petersburg and we are again asking for your help.

At 6:40 AM on Wednesday, November 8th, 2006, police were called about a man lying on the ground outside Lowry Tire Company at 126 North Crater Road. Officers found ROBERT L. BRASWELL, JR., the 43 year old owner of the business, in the front parking lot. He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness was found who had heard gunfire at approximately 6:30 AM - just about 10 minutes before police were called. No motive for this senseless crime has ever been determined. Police have received some information but not enough to support an arrest.

Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. Additional reward money is being offered by the victim's family and friends. If you know anything about the murder of ROBERT BRASWELL, or you have information about any crime or fugitive in the Petersburg or Dinwiddie County area, call Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212.
