Crimes of the Week
December 2007

December 19, 2007

This week Crime Solvers is asking for your help with an armed robbery in Petersburg.

On Saturday, November 24th, the Subway restaurant located at the intersection of South Crater Road and Wagner Road was robbed by a lone gunman. The suspect entered the business at about 9:25 PM. He jumped over the counter, shoved one of the cashiers, grabbed the other one by the arm, and ordered them to open the cash register. He then fled the scene with the whole cash drawer.

This suspect is described as a black male, about 6' tall wearing a blue jump suit and a white mask. He was armed with a black handgun.

Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. The grand larceny of tools from a business in Dinwiddie County is the focus of this week's Crime Solvers spot.

During the early morning hours of Thursday, December 6th, thieves struck Tony's Auto & Truck Repair in the DeWitt area of the County. A large amount of mechanic's tools - to include brand names like Snap-On and DeWalt - were taken. This business has been victimized several times recently.

Authorities believe that these stolen items will be offered for sale at very low prices.

Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. If you know anything about these thefts, or you have information about any crime or fugitive in the Petersburg or Dinwiddie County area, call Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212. You never have to give your name or testify in court to earn the reward. All Crime Solvers calls are kept completely confidential.

A late night shooting at a restaurant in Petersburg is the focus of this week's Crime Solvers spot.

Just before 2:30 AM on Sunday, December 2nd, police were notified of a shooting at the Blackjack restaurant located at 2103 East Washington Street. A fight that had started inside ended up outside. As a result, 3 young men were treated at Southside Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Police have very little to go on in this case and we are asking for your help.
