An unsolved murder in Petersburg is the focus of this week's Crime Solvers spot.

Just over 2 years ago, on Sunday, May 7th, 2006, shortly before 9:00 PM, the victim was seen walking on Slagle Avenue - just outside the Pins Oaks apartment complex. Witnesses advised seeing two other subjects walking in that area at the same time. One of them was known to be armed with a silver handgun. A single shot rang out and 27 year old Anthony A. Freeman - known by the nickname "DMC" - lay dying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police have developed some information on this case but still need your help to make an arrest.

Crime Solvers urgently needs your help to locate a violent fugitive - ANTHONY WAYNE BUTCHER.

Multiple felony warrants are on file in Petersburg charging MR. BUTCHER with malicious wounding and attempted murder in connection with a shooting incident on the evening on Thursday, May 15th at the corner of North Market Street and Grove Avenue.

ANTHONY BUTCHER - known by the nickname "HANK"- is a 25 year old black male, 6'4" tall, about 190 lbs. His last known address was in the 1100 block of High Pearl Street in Petersburg but he is known to stay in the 3500 block of South Street in Ettrick. At the time of the shooting, the suspect was driving a dark green 1995 Lexus 4 door sedan. He may still be using that car.

Authorities consider ANTHONY BUTCHER to be ARMED & DANGEROUS!!

An armed robbery in Petersburg is the focus of this week's Crime Solvers spot.

At 12:15 PM on Wednesday, April 23rd, a lone gunman entered J's Grocery located at 1136 Halifax Street. The suspect approached the store owner and demanded money from the cash registers. He then fled South on Halifax Street toward Hilton Place.

This suspect is described as a black male in his mid to late 20's, about 6' tall, 175-190 lbs. He had short hair, a dark complexion and had a black bandana covering most of his face. He wore a bright yellow shirt with dark stripes, faded blue jeans, and was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

This week Crime Solvers needs your help to locate another fugitive from justice - DERRICK CHANTEL FRIEND.

A number of Grand Jury Indictments are on file with the Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office charging MR. FRIEND in connection with the distribution of illegal drugs.

DERRICK FRIEND is a 30 year old black male, 6'2" tall and weighing about 300 lbs. MR. FRIEND'S last known residence was in the West Petersburg neighborhood of Dinwiddie County. Your help is needed to get this fugitive off of the street.
